The Uberti 1873 El Patron in .357 magnum is a tuned version of the gun that won the west. The steel frame, trigger guard, and case color hardened receiver provide the foundation for this superb handgun. The gunsmiths at Uberti have installed U.S made high performance Wolf springs for superior performance and with an overall action job the El Patron is smoother, faster, and more accurate than your run of the mill 1873. The one piece checkered walnut grips add to the character of the pistol while letting the shooter get a better grip when shooting. The 5.5" blued steel barrel with ramp front sight balances out the Uberti 1873 El Patron which lends to the 1873's natural pointability and phenominal handling which made it such a poplular choice of both lawmen and outlaws alike in the old west. The Uberti 1873 utilizes a retactable firing pin, which allows you to safely chamber 6rds without sacrificing the look of an original 1st generation Colt. This means that the firing pin is not locked into the firing position until the trigger is pulled. Although this is much safer than the originals and does so without the transfer bar safety on competing designs, Uberti still does not recommend carrying in this fashion because the potential for accidental discharge still remains even if greatly decreased.
